How to File a Claim
There are three easy ways to get your glass claim started:
Option 1 — Through Your Insurance
File directly through your insurance company’s app, website, or by calling your agent. Then schedule your appointment with us.
Option 2 — Through Your Agent
Contact your insurance agent directly and let them know you’d like to use Capital Auto Glass.
Option 3 — We Do It For You
Provide us your insurance information and we will file the claim on your behalf — the easiest option for most customers.
Understanding Your Coverage
Auto glass damage is typically covered under comprehensive insurance (not collision), which generally has a lower deductible. Here’s what to expect:
- Windshield Repair: Most insurance companies waive your deductible entirely when the windshield can be repaired instead of replaced.
- Windshield Replacement: You pay your deductible; insurance covers the remainder. In many cases, Capital Auto Glass can partially or completely waive your deductible, depending on the glass, deductible amount, and your insurance company.
- Check with your agent — many policies cover glass with a $0 deductible under comprehensive coverage.
